CCP karkur wrote:I hope you like these changes One thing about this devblog makes me sad My devblog titlemaster, CCP RedDawn, came with a GREAT title for this blog: " Fleet, you fools!", but it had to be changed to be more descriptive "Fleet, you fools!" was the best idea! Hashi Lebwohl wrote:Similar to the green highlight for youself in fleet could you help Wing and fleet commanders identify those individuals in the wing/fleet that have leadership 5 - say highlight them in blue. This would really help in full fleets where a squad has 10 members but nobody has taken the squad commander position. You could then put someone into command immediately rather than search through the fleet composition for the squad member with the right skill. You are not supposed to know other characters' skills; unless you get their explicit approval, such as by them giving you an EVE API key. Erlendur S. You are not supposed to know other characters' skills; unless you get their explicit approval, such as by them giving you an EVE API key. There is an exception to this it seems. The Fleet Composition window shows the Leadership/Wing Command/Fleet Command levels for any subordinates in your fleet (squad commander can see squad, wing commander wing, Boss/Fleet Commander everyone). As such, Implementing the change suggested wouldn't be adding any new information previously unobtainable; just makes it slightly easier to see. Mind you, the drag/drop thing if it works from the fleet composition window for individuals should fix most of the issue as you can sort by skill levels. That what window? Seriously, I didn't know this window existed and it goes against some of the basic general principles of "fog of war" and privacy we follow Ah, well, one always learns something new every day. Thanks for the correction. Erlendur S. Thorsteinsson | Software Director | EVE Online, CCP Games | Follow on: Twitter / Google+ |

Alice Katsuko wrote:It doesn't go against privacy or fog of war principles. A player should give up a certain amount of privacy by joining a fleet, and in this case the loss isn't substantial and is fully voluntary. If a player doesn't want the fleet boss to know what he is flying, he should not be in fleet in the first place. Part of privacy is knowing when you give up privacy and what you give away.

Edit: Correction regarding the fleet composition window here https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2632802#post2632802 There's an exception to this in making your certificates public (doesn't tell exact skills but implys the minimums for the cert). Could that functionality be based off of public leadership certificates? That's not an exception; I mentioned an EVE API key as an example ("such as by them giving you an EVE API key") and the certificate system (and medals) is another example where you decide to make the information available.
